Happy Easter!

Happy Easter guys! Hope it was a fantastic one! I, sadly, have a cold, so it wasn't exactly the most hyper I've been on Easter morning, but I still enjoyed myself, and had candy, and an egg hunt, and mostly importantly celebrated what Easter is really about (and no guys, it isn't the Easter bunny!) Also, I may have failed in my picture taking duty this weekend, because instead of going hiking, my friends and I went to the boardwalk to rent one of those multiple person bike thingys you see tourists riding all the time. It was a blast, but not exactly the best opportunity for photos, because I was pedaling the whole time. And those things are harder then they look! Even my friend, who works out (I most certainly do NOT :P ) and plays soccer, was having issues pedaling that thing! But we goofed off, exclaimed over people's cute dogs, and stopped at DQ for refreshments. Then in the evening we went to my other friend's youth group for a pre-Easter youth event. (and of course, stopped at starbucks on the way home!) So basically, I had a crazy fun time, but sadly only a few pics my friend took with my camera to show for it. Sorry guys, I'll be more diligent next time!...... haha yeahhhhh we'll see if I follow up on that! ;)

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Hair + Nails

Woo hoo, three posts, three days in a row! What is this?! Sorry guys, don't get used to it :P I have lots of pictures. Although, I am possibly going hiking this weekend, so that's probably when I'll post   next. But enough about that, this post is about my hair ( yes, again ) and nails for today! My outfit is just a bumming it at home all day outfit, so no pics of it! But I did my nails, using a new pen, and one of my favorite colors/ brands of nail polish. And my hair I curled yesterday for school, then ended up wearing it in a messy bun, because I didn't like it. But after wearing it up in another messy bun all day, when I took it down, I loved it! so weird. So I haven't done anything to it, except for failing at curling it yesterday. I got a curling wand for christmas, so I'm still getting used to it. I used to curl my hair like once a year, and it was with a regular barrel curler. And my mom did it for me. So needless to say, some days it curls amazingly, others I just have a lion's mane!

My tank top is actually used to be a hugely oversized T-shirt my mom got for me at the thrift store, because it said london on it. So I turned it into a tank top. Maybe I'll do a tutorial for it, next time I make one? Oh, and I got a new mirror, yay! And it's Frank again :)

I had to get one "artsy"photo in there somewhere :P

I keep this verse in my bathroom, as a reminder

"Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's eyes." 1Peter 3:3-4

Antique Books!

I decided to follow through with my hint from the other post, and take some pictures of a few of my antique books! This is just one set of "The wonders of science in modern life". It's kinda cool, cause what was modern then, in this book set, is so outdated now. There's tons of interesting stuff in them, and I think it's the full set. I got them at an antique store, one of my favorite buys from an antique store EVER. I absolutely adore antique books (I might've said that before, haha) and I've started a collection! I have a few others that I didn't photograph (this time) and I love all of them. They even smell amazing!

I Went Somewhere Exciting! (And They Wouldn't Let Me Take Photos!)

My friends and I went to a college, because they had a biblical artifacts exhibit, but they didn't allow me to take any pictures inside the exhibit! :/ (I took the ones below in the library, and outside on the campus) But we learned a lot about the printing of bibles, and the hand-illuminated bibles were gorgeous. I absolutely adore antique books, I've got a bit of a collection going myself (maybe I'll photograph them in the near future, hint hint)  Even though most of them were in hebrew, or latin, or german, or even dead languages, it was really cool to look at them, and learn about the printing or hand lettering of them. And we went to get pizza beforehand and to starbucks afterward, and ran around the campus, so it was tons of fun!

The fountains were gorgeous!

Also, it was rather chilly

K, so I know the quote doesn't match the pic, or the post, but I really like it so sorry :P (P.S. that globe was HUGE, and that is my friend accidentally photobombing the pic with his legs )

Trip! (yes, I was traveling, Again)

My homeschool music co-op went on a trip to Asheville N.C.! The bus ride was crazy long (nine. and. a. half. hours. oh. my. gosh.), but it was so worth it! We gave concerts in retirement homes, and it was amazing to see the joy our songs brought to the residents. Seeing all their smiling faces and hearing how happy they were to have us perform was more then enough reason to ignore how exhausted I was and how gross my voice sounded. We also got to perform on the steps of the Biltmore, which was so cool, we sang while people were getting on and off tour busses. Then we got to tour the Biltmore, which was crazy epic,  but sadly no photography allowed inside the house, so no pics. But I got some of the grounds around the house, which. were. absolutely. gorgeous. can I just live there? plus a two-story library, with spiral staircase to the second level? I was drooling a little I think. Did I mention theres an indoor bowling alley AND an indoor heated pool with underwater lighting and diving platform? Other then the fact that there was like, 20 billion stairs, It was amazing. And there was a bakery, with food, Yummmmm. My friends and I got croissants :D A place we went for fun was this thing called fun depot, with laser tag, rock climbing, go-carts, mini-golf, and arcade games somehow gloriously squished under the same roof. I almost fell over when we walked in, it was crazy awesome. plus our group had unlimited arcade games for an hour. My friend and I went crazy with some shooting game where you kill robots. I had a mini-gun. He had grenades. Needless to say it was amazing. Even the place we stayed was pretty cool, with a gym to play volleyball and really nice rooms. All in all, I had a flipping fantastic time! I was dead on the way home of course, and I'm still pretty tired, but it was my last year and so worth it!

The Biltmore (view from the front lawn)

This picture was entirely accidental, and I wasn't even looking through the viewfinder, but I like how it turned out! :D

Guys, thank gosh, there was a coffee shop! (plus my friend has adorable mittens, they're squirrels!)

I'm getting somewhat used to doing lens flares on my new nikon, I think

I can't believe how great the lighting was on the bus, at 6 in the morning!

I'm so jelly of the Biltmore's backyard. I'll take two.

The architecture was also gorgeous!

another example of the amazing architecture! this is the front gate!

Messy Fishtail (and also Frank!)

Hmmm its been a week since I dyed my hair.......and I still LOVE it! It makes even a plain fishtail braid look fancy :D I'm still experimenting with what hairdo's work, and what ones don't. I'm having issues finding a good ombre bun. All my buns end up looking like someone stuck a fake blond bun on my head. But side braids look epic, cause my new layers stick out, so its messy, and the ombre just looks cool braided :P I also curl it a lot, cause even though it looks cool straight, it looks better curled in my opinion. I just can't get it to curl like the lady at the hair salon had it. I'm using coconut oil to keep the ends from being all dry and crackly, cause apparently that can happen when you dye it and curl it a lot. Iv'e been wearing it in a messy fishtail today, which is what the pic is. Also Frank is making another appearance, covering up my awkward expression! :P

Oh and also, my shirt is the one I got at winter jam, that Red signed! :D

OHMYGOSH

*dramatic drum roll please* So I dyed my hair! Well not all of it, technically, but I've never done anything other then cut it, so I was an excited person! It took about 2 & 1/2 hours, but it was totally worth it! Its ombre and its also curled in le photo. sadly my hair isn't that curly in real life :P But I LOVE how it turned out!
